Newports also were made a little lighter in 2009 ... they peaked in 2007 at 21mg tar 1.7 nic ... even a little draw yielded huge smoke volume .. used to get a slight buzz off every smoke ... now they are back down to 1.5 ... Asked Lorillard if they would consider making them stronger - they said they don't have any feedback like that. Personally - I would enjoy a stronger Newport Max Flavour with 25 tar 2.1 nic ...

I don't really like the shorts. I LOVE the 100s, though. Its what i started with, and its probably what i'll stick with. I've smoked Marlboro reds and Marlboro menthols, but neither compare. I've been smoking on and off since my freshman year of high school. One of my friends got me hooked on them. I'm 21 now, and i still love em'.

what's the difference between shorts and 100s other than length? And is there a difference between newports and newport box?

I've been smoking for about 7-8 years, I started when I was 10 or 11 can't remember which LOL. But anyways I have smoked Newport's the whole time, I smoke kings though not the 100's. I smoke around 2 packs a day, sometimes less but not too much less. My brother smokes Camel's and I hate the taste of a non-menthol cigarette and he hates menthol cigarettes, guess I don't have to worry about him stealing any of my cigs.

This is a nice thread. Newport 100's are sooo good. I've been smoking for 15 years or so, and only switched to Newport 100's about 5 years ago. I wish I had tried them sooner. I used to love my Marlboro reds, and now seem like a joke. Ports are the real deal. ...hopefully some young kids will stumble on this thread while deciding weather or not they should try smoking. All I can say is YES!! It's a big step, but if you stay committed you'll be rewarded with a lifelong delicious, sexy, relaxing habit...and TONS of cool friends. Save your allowance and when it's legal spend it all on Newport 100's. If you can get a hold of some sooner, I say go for it. It really sucks that there is so much negativity out there. I know if you are a teen you see it every day. Sure, smoking isn't the best thing you can do for your health, but I bet you would agree that it's not the worst. It IS, however, the best thing you can do to look hot, feel relaxed..and best of all...attract other sexy smokers (who in my experience tend to get freaky if it develops into a fetish :) )

My new girlfriend smokes Newport and I feel like I'm drawn to the smell on her and her breath when I kiss her. I want to smoke soooooo badly, but never have in my life, and am nervous to try. I want her to teach me how to start smoking so we can together but I'm nervous. How long does it take before I can smoke like she does?

i started smoking at 13, camels, and i switched to reds simply because they felt stronger and were cheep
my first menthol was a pall mall and i hated it. never tried a other again for years. then i ran out of reds, and my friend handed me a new port, greens (short) and i loved the thick menthol flavor. havent touched anything since, i cant stand the taste of anything else! just got a new pack and im enjoying it. next year i turn 18 and can buy them all i want.

Newports. That's my 13 year old son's and my husbands brand. But I smoke unfiltered.

I really hope that those comments don't stop new smokers from trying Newport 100s. I don't really see a big difference, and they are still the best, most powerful feeling smoke. WELL worth the money.

i ben smoking for 2year almost 3 now. but the last 2 packz i bought from the store tasted a little funny and smelled way different than they normally do. do anyone elses newports taste different?

i started not even too long ago, ive been smoking for about a year maybe and I LOVE THEM. i started out with marlboro reds and than i tried a newport of my friends, and i loveeddd it. it was probably the best cigarette ive ever had. if i keep smoking, i will always be a newport 100 person. and if i dont, than i will be happy to end my smoking with this brand.

I am a 2 pack a day Newport 100's smoker. That is the minimum that I smoke, usually more on the weekends. I have been smoking for 23 years, the last ten or so years I have become a heavy smoker. I smoked thru both my pregnancies. Both my daughters smoke too. Newport 100's are the only cigarette that can keep my nicotine level where it needs to be. I smoke all day at work, and in my car, I can not drive without chain smoking, you should see the inside of my car, its such a mess. With this said, Newport 100's are the one and only cigarette for true professional smokers!!!!

I started on Newports at 14. At the time, I figured I'd smoke a couple packs a week - whoops. I was quickly up to 1ppd with all the nicotine. Years later, I'm a 2ppd Newport smoker and loving it. The tar and nicotine are perfect. I'm never quitting smoking and I'm never quitting my Newports. Newport Pleasure indeed.

I love the pleasure Newport 100's gives me every one I light up. They have been my regular brand now for 3 years now. I only smoke the 100's the kings don't taste the same to me smoke too fast. I love everything about the 100's. The nice long cork filter and the feel of the cigarette between my fingers and my lips, the strong smell as it burns resting in my ash tray, and the strong thick flavor rushing in my mouth and lungs as I inhale it's true pleasure providing smoke. All of this is what I look foward to in every newport 100 I smoke. There are only a couple of other brands that comes close to this for me. One is Virgina Slims 120's and Camel Turkish Jade 100's when you could still buy them. I think I will always keep trying other brands that are out there and compairing them to Newport 100's in hopes to finding one that gives me even more pleasure. So far nothing has out pleasured my #1 brand and untill one does I will never quit smoking them as long as i am a smoker which I hope is till I am old and forced to give them up. I don't even know if could even do so if that time were to come. I hate to think about it and how I would feel if I could not smoke anymore. Life without the pleasure may not be life at all, and I hope nobody will have to experance life without the pleasure.

I had my first Newport 100 when I was 11, I only had marlboro light 100's till that point and a few reds. When I saw the long, sexy green pack in my friends moms purse I knew I had to have one and vowed to get a few. I finally pilfered a few from her pack one day when she left the room and later went into the woods and lit up, it was a strong ecstatic rush. I relaxed and smoked them all. I found out later she kept a carton in the freezer and would often score a pack, its the sexiest cigarette ever and a pleasure to smoke, even during sex.

I've been a casual smoker for almost 2 decade. I'll buy a pack here and there and smoke them and then go without for a few months. I've always like Newport lights. I could smoke 1-2 packs over a two week period and then walk away without much addiction.

About three month ago they gave me regular Newports but didn't realize it until after I opened the pack so I said 'why not'. I have not put them down since. I've been doing about half a pack a day now for 3 months and wow, I just love them. I thought I could avoid the addiction but those things got me hooked pretty quickly and honestly, no desire going back. I'm getting to the point I'm soon going to have to start smoking at work, something I really didn't want to do. Might get myself an e-cigarette to get me thru the day because I don't like smelling smoky at work. But at home, I can go to town. Today I just bought my first carton and since I'm on vacation the rest of the year I plan on letting my addiction just sink in deep! Why I fought smoking so long I have no clue!!!
