Marlboro lights and the law of diminishing returns?
Hi!
Been smoking 1 or 2 Marlboro lights a day for a couple of months as a way of relaxing in the evening. It works really well for that. I enjoy the act of smoking and it certainly relaxes me well. However, my enjoyment of the actual taste seemed to peak a couple of weeks ago. I smoked a few which wee absolutely sensational. I loved the taste, the feeling ... everything.
In the last week though something has gone wrong. The last few of the last pack and the first few of my new pack have done the relaxing job fine, but the taste has become yucky. I just don't like it. It's not that I've got addicted or need a stronger cig or anything, because I haven't and I don't. The nicotine aspect is just fine. But the taste I just can't stand all of a sudden.
So my question is: is this just a natural thing? Is it the law of diminishing returns that I loved it when I first got fully used to it and after that it's just 'normal' and the taste goes downhill? Or should I try and switch brands to find one I actually like? I like smoking, but if it continues to taste this bad I don't really see the point. I like the strength of the lights but just want a better taste.

Try a different brand
I'd try another brand of lights and see if that helps. Maybe a menthol light, they are pretty flavorful. Good luck.
I agree... try Menthols
Sounds like you are getting a really good start. Menthols are so satisfying and smooth tasting. I would think that might do the trick for you. Marlboro Menthols are great, and I've found American Spirit Menthol Lts to be a great smoke too!
You definitely need to find something that you enjoy the taste. All cigarettes give you that rush yet relaxing feeling. I think you'll enjoy the cool taste of a menthol cig. Try it :)

I agree you should also try Marlboro Menthol Lights.
I have always found that I like to combine tastes. When I smoke I always have something sweet with it, others love coffee with their cigarettes. For example, I'm having a Snapple with my Marlboro Smooths. I've also like Trident gum with smoking.

Gas station
Sounds like you have stale cigarettes. Try buying cigarettes from a tobacco shop never buy them from gas stations are 7-11. Freshness makes a big difference.
